As Leaf Subsides to Leaf

As Leaf Subsides to Leaf, February 3, 2010
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Today, despite having a trillion things to do, Kate and I took a little stroll through the nature walk. She was eager to hold my hand and skip by my side. I’m enjoying it now for I know that one day she won’t be so eager to do so. It was a beautiful day, and I’m glad we were able to get out before all the rains return again.
